Professional Examinations and Eye Care
Traditional proven methods of eye examinations are combined with new technology to provide thorough in depth eye examinations. The optometrists are dedicated to provide a full eye care screening process, to ensure patients’ continued optimum ocular health. This is combined with accurate spectacle and contact lens prescriptions for maximum visual acuity and comfort, should the need for optical correction arise.
Eye examinations are carried out using a combination of traditional methods such as the phoropter to obtain the highest level of accuracy. This is combined with state-of-the-art electronic equipment, which is used to determine the possible strength of glasses, if needed, and to capture detailed digital photographic images of the retina (the interior back wall of the eye). This enables the recognition of any ocular problems such as glaucoma or macular degeneration at the earliest possible stage.
Digital Photographic Fundus Examination
Our fundus eye test broadens the test process by providing a health assessment of each patient’s whole visual systems, enabling the detection of problems associated with diabetes, macular problems, glaucoma, cataracts and more. The eye test results are recorded on the database for retrieval on a later date for comparison and/or referrals to a GP or specialist should the need arise.
Our practise at Silverlakes acquired a new fundus camera. It is a high-resolution camera with a wide field of vision for easy detection of pathology on the retina. This allows for our optometrist to generate high resolution retinal images for detailed screening and analysis. The camera has a mosaic function that allows you to combine photos from different areas of the eye for a more complete view of the retina. This apparatus is ideal for preventative measures and early detection of retinal related conditions.
